Write x² as x^2 (the letter x, then ^, then 2). So x^2 + 8x + 15 means x² + 8x + 15.
Use - for a minus, e.g. x^2 - 2x - 15. Leave a term out if it isn't there, e.g. x^2 - 25. Terms can be in any order, but collect like terms first.
